Halluc IIx, a curious eight-legged robot,
In ieee.org they have made a compilation of the most original robots that have appeared in recent weeks, and the list begins with a strange mechanical be eight feet.
It is Halluc IIx, of furo.org , designed to function as a vehicle capable of seamlessly integrated into any environment model.
It has 56 motors that allow its movement on different surfaces, treating the relief as if they were steps. It can be transformed in three modes: insect, animal, traditional vehicle mode, each mode designed to move in different places.
Its operation has been shown in the Ars Electronica Festival 2015 during the last week in Austria, but have not yet specified commercial utilities or companies interested in acquiring the project.
The tendency to create robots that are committed to mobility is increasing, that climb stairs, which run through the woods, to maintain balance, to roll, to stand up ... its usefulness in emergency situations is obvious, hopefully price is increasingly affordable for them to be acquired by organizations that really need them.
